There are images and beliefs we hold of picturesque parenthood, the perfect childhood, a beautiful pregnancy, and loving relationships. When things become painful, complicated, or simply different from what we imagined, it can be hard to know where those experiences fit. It is wonderful to celebrate with others when things are going well, but it is so isolating when we encounter the hard or painful moments. Growing a family can be beautiful, but it can also be messy, overwhelming, and deeply isolating. In those harder moments, having a supportive community can make all the difference.
As a veteran and a member of the LGBTQA+ community, I know that finding a supportive community can feel insurmountable. As a mother of four children, through
adoption and birth, I know that asking for help can leave you feeling vulnerable and judged. In all the chaos of change, we often lose our sense of self. It can feel like there isn’t a place for the complexity of our emotions and our experiences because there is just too much going on.
If you are here looking for support, I would be honored to be part of your community. In our work together, I hope to offer a quiet, supportive space where you can slow down, process what you have been carrying, and make room for all that has unfolded along your journey.
My approach is collaborative and tailored to your individual needs and goals. I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Most importantly, I value meeting you where you are and working alongside you toward the changes, healing, and growth that feel meaningful to you.
