Welcome, I’m so glad you’re here!
Over the almost 20 years I've spent as a mental health therapist, I've supported many clients during the perinatal period, a time that can be wonderful and deeply meaningful, but also challenging, heart breaking and everything in between. As a mother of three who has also experienced pregnancy loss and my own mental health challenges after childbirth, I understand firsthand how complex this stage of life can be. Although my youngest is now 11, I continue to find great joy in helping and empowering new and prospective parents.
My passion lies in reproductive and perinatal mental health, including postpartum depression, anxiety, trauma, and adjustment. I especially enjoy working with those who are planning a family, trying to conceive, navigating infertility or pregnancy loss, or adjusting to life with a new baby. I also love helping parents problem-solve around daily challenges, understand developmental stages, and manage the logistics of baby and childcare life.
In therapy, I provide a supportive space to explore your challenges and discover your own answers and coping strategies. I believe everyone can benefit from therapy at some point, it’s a sign of strength to recognize when you need a little extra support during life’s transitions. My work is client-centered and collaborative, and I tailor my approach to each individual using Cognitive Behavioral, Humanistic, and Solution-Focused therapies.
Outside of my work, I’m married to a teacher, and we share our busy home with three boys, two cats, and a dog. In my free time, I love reading, gardening (badly, but I try!), cheering for the Mariners, watching cooking shows, and spending time with friends.

We are thrilled to share that we accept Kaiser (Northern CA) insurance!
Please note that Kaiser requires a prior authorization for counseling services. If you don’t already have one, simply contact your local Kaiser Mental Health team and request a referral to Dancy Perinatal. You’re welcome to book your appointment before your authorization is approved, we just recommend choosing a time at least 5 business days out to allow Kaiser enough time to process it.
If you already have your authorization in hand, go ahead and schedule the time that works best for you, and we’ll be in touch shortly.
And if you have questions or need support at any point, we’re here to help!
